Development & Integration of Kirthar Model & Operations & Maintenance of Data Center
Country: Pakistan
Client: Irrigation Department, Government of Sindh
Funding Agency: The World Bank
Partners: Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand & Carthago Consultancy, the Netherlands
The study involves a topographic survey of the Kirthar and Suleman Ranges catchments impacting the Right Bank of the Indus River in Sindh. It identifies key locations for flow and rainfall gauges to acquire real-time data from the ground and weather models. Hydrological rainfall-runoff models for these ranges will be developed, calibrated, and validated, leading to the preparation of flood hazard maps for vulnerable downstream communities.
