The Sindh Irrigation Department (SID), under the World Bank-funded Sindh Resilience Project, aims to strengthen institutional capacity by evaluating the safety of hydraulic infrastructures, particularly traditional flood embankments protecting riverine communities and low-lying areas. The project includes developing a comprehensive database to assess embankment conditions, enhancing hazard and impact modeling tools, and creating strategies for controlled breaching as a flood and inundation risk management approach.
